Mince Dishes

Chilli meatballs
400g mince
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon chilli powder or crushed dried chilli
Flower for dusting
Oil for deep-frying

Thoroughly mix all the ingredients together in large bowl except flour and oil cover and place in fridge for ½ hour. Take meat mixture out of fridge and shape into balls approximately 3cm. Roll in flour. Heat oil and fry over medium heat until brown and cooked through. Serve with quick mustard sauce and fried rice


Beef burgers
400g mince beef
1medium onion finely diced
1 egg
1 tablespoon mixed herbs
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper

Combine all ingredients in bowl and thoroughly mix together with hands. Shape into burgers place on plate cover, and put into fridge for ½ hour.
Grill or fry until cooked through. Serve with chips, salad and hot mayonnaise


Mince shishkebab
400g mince
1 tablespoon garlic puree
½ teaspoon ginger puree
1 tablespoon mixed herbs
1 egg
1 tablespoon mixed herbs
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper

Put all ingredients into blender and pulse until mixed. If you don't have blender mix thoroughly by hand. Roll into 6 sausage shapes place in fridge for half-hour. Put onto skewers and grill turning three or four times until cooked through. Serve with boiled rice basic chilli sauce (page 6) and a mixed salad


Meat loaf
1 egg lightly beaten
56g fresh bread crumbs
500g mince beef
1 small onion finely diced
120ml water
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon tomato puree

Thoroughly mix all ingredients together. Pack into greased loaf tin. Bake in oven (200c. Mark 6)
Until cooked approximately ¾ hour. Serve with roast potatoes, two veg, A basic brown sauce 2

Mince and noodle casserole
1 small onion diced
2 tablespoons oil
400g mince
224g egg noodles cooked
1tin condensed cream of tomato soup
1 tin water
2oz grated cheese

Place oil into saucepan. When hot fry onion until translucent. Add mince and brown
Combine meat, seasoning, soup, water, and noodles into casserole dish top with grated cheese.
Cook in oven for 30minutes (350f mark 4)


Mince nuggets
225g mince
1 small onion
3 tablespoons self-raising flour
Small amount water
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
Oil for frying

Put flour into a bowl add egg, and beat. Gradually add just enough water to make a thick batter. Stir in onion, mince salt and pepper. Leave for 1 hour in warm place. Heat oil in frying pan. When hot drop in spoonfuls of mixture, and fry until golden. Serve with sweet and sour sauce 1 (page 5). Boiled rice and Puri


Quick chilli con carne
400g mince beef
1 large onion diced
2 tablespoons oil
1 tin red kidney beans
100g tomato pure
1 teaspoon garlic pure
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon sugar
300ml water

Put oil into saucepan over medium heat when hot add onion cook until translucent. Add mince cook until brown. Add rest of ingredients and cook over low heat for 30 minutes


Easy patties
400g mince meat
1teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon mixed herbs
2 table spoons oil

Mix mince, salt, pepper, and herbs thoroughly shape into 4-6 patties
Put oil into heavy frying pan. Fry until cooked through turning once
Serve on garlic bread with cheese sauce.
